Welcome to our website! I am Tammy George, and I am honored to be the Assistant Principal at Glencoe High School.
Experience in Education:
I have nineteen years of experience as an educator. I was an Algebra I and eighth grade general math teacher at Charles R. Drew Middle School in Lincoln, Alabama for eleven years. I then received the great opportunity to come to Glencoe. I taught Algebra A & B, and Algebra I for three years prior to my current position as Assistant Principal. This year will begin my sixth year in administration.
Education:
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education from Jacksonville State University(1989) and my Master's Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from The University of Alabama(1993). I am a Highly Qualified Teacher according to the Alabama State Department of Education standards. I later went back to The University of Alabama for my certification in Educational Administration(1999).
My Family:
I have been married to Bob George for twenty-one years. We have two sons, Derek (eighteen) and Ryan (fifteen). Derek is a senior at Southside High and Ryan is an ninth grader at Glencoe High School.
I would like to challenge the students and faculty members of all schools to set their standards high. Always remember, we all have the potential for an amazing future. Go Jackets!!
